Tea time or logo design

Logo design considerations

I’m obsessed with tea like some are with coffee and my friends and family know better than to get between me and my first cup, or second, or….you get the picture. With that in mind, it was only natural that I would choose to include it in my logo. Yes, one task as a writer is to have a logo. While it can be something simple like your name, I’m inclined to have something more visual. Making logos is something I’ve done before and I’ve learned they must be easy to replicate, simple, and graphic so they can be placed on everything, including the tiny tab on your website.

If you study the tabs on your web browser you notice that some have a cute little logo picture while others have something generic like a WordPress logo. That little picture is a favicon. Something easy to add once you know what it is if your theme and hosting company allow it. Given the minuscule size, the need for simple graphics is obvious.

Having a distinctive, memorable logo was also a consideration. Having one that relates to the product is less necessary. Examples abound of companies whose logos have nothing to do with the product. I designed mine on an app, but many cheap alternatives like Fiver can also do the trick.

Page and post title considerations

Another thing I enjoy is a pun, which explains the title of this post. Unfortunately, bots and SEO (website ranking) do not appreciate puns, or any cute labels, but since this post is just for fun and to inform (probably no one), please indulge me. If you blog, which I’m not suggesting, research newspaper title development, ranking words, or use the question you are answering. This is an entire field itself.

For those who do not understand the pun, it relates to how you start when playing golf. Which I do…badly. While I enjoy a fun round with my husband or friends, most would tell you that what I do on the course is not technically golf given my use of the shoe club and mulligans to speed up play and increase enjoyment. Some might also say I pun badly.
